How to remove the toupee and clean it

Removing Guide

Strongly advise use cotton wool when removing their hair systems. Wrap a line of wool above your eyebrows and around the circumference of the head. Please protect your eyes!

When removing a lace hair system whether it is taped or perimeter bonded you MUST completely release the bond from the adhesive or tape. The Lace Release or Amber should have been left on for a few minutes, the lace should release from the bond smoothly. This will minimize hair loss.
STEP 1:
Tie your hair up away from the perimeter area.
STEP 2:
Spray Amber / Lace Release all around the perimeter area or alternatively just around the area you wish to remove . Spray a light mist directly between the base and your scalp while peeling up the unit.
STEP 3:
Wait for a couple of minutes for the bond to release before gently lifting the lace away from the scalp or hair. The adhesive residue is released from the lace. When removing a lace hair system whether it is taped or perimeter bonded you MUST completely release the bond from the adhesive or tape. The Lace Release or Amber should have been left on for a few minutes, the lace should release from the bond smoothly. This will minimize hair loss.
If you are using lace tape at the front, again 'drip' the amber through the lace; give this a few moments and then 'peel' the lace back. The tape should still be adhered to the scalp and the lace should be clear of most of the residue.
If you have taped all the way around without adhesive, do the same as the above.
In order to avoid damaging your front hairline, we recommend always removing your hair system from back to front.
STEP 4:
Should you have any resistant adhesive residue around the perimeter area of your hair line or on your actual hair, we advice you to gently wash the area with warm water then apply a reasonable amount of olive oil/vegetable oil to the area (the oil helps lubricate the hair and area). Proceed to gently rub the area with your fingers, picking away any adhesive residue until all the residue comes off.
STEP 5:
Rinse off the area using warm water, then apply some shampoo and wash the area until all oil and adhesive residue is cleaned out. Next rinse the area with warm water and then towel dry.

Clean toupee

It is also essential to completely remove any adhesive residue from your system to guarantee the efficacy of your bonding.

1. Spray citrus oil adhesive remover onto the skin base and allow to penetrate for 1-5 minutes.
2. Firmly wipe off adhesive residue with kitchen roll until all traces of adhesive have been completely removed.
3. Shampoo the underside of your system to remove any trace of adhesive remover, then rinse thoroughly. It may be necessary to repeat this step a few times because any trace of adhesive or the remover will weaken the strength of subsequent bonding.

Clean scalp

Follow these instructions to effectively remove adhesive residue from your scalp.

1. Spray citrus oil adhesive remover onto your scalp and allow to penetrate the residue for 1-3 minutes.
2. Firmly wipe off the adhesive residue with kitchen roll (useful because of its abrasive surface) until any trace of adhesive has been completely removed.
3. If there is a lot of residue on the scalp and in your hair, use a fine tooth nit comb.  This is a fantastic tool for removing residue from the scalp and hair.  Gently comb it over the scalp and hair and it will collect the residue on the comb.
4. Shampoo your scalp and hair to remove any trace of adhesive remover, then rinse thoroughly. It may be necessary to repeat this step a few times because any trace of adhesive or the remover will weaken the strength of subsequent bonding.
